Kaya! My name is Jasmin (but call me Jaz). I am a huge nuclear science and engineering nerd, as well as a mum and military veteran. I'm a Superstar of STEM and love talking and engaging in all things science, especially atomic science (it's rad). Chat to me about speaking or giving presentations in the media, schools or events.
What is it that I do?
I am passionate about communicating and encouraging more people to be excited about science and scientific discovery. As a seasoned and confident speaker I pride myself in tailoring presentations or pieces to suit the desired audience. I'm not a researcher, I am a practitioner and believe that science communication should be accessible and enjoyable. So I work hard to share my experience and knowledge while also continuing to learn.
Media
I am not afraid to draw on scientific evidence and engineering to inform news and media stories of the day. Whether it's live to air on TV or radio, pre-recorded or supporting a written piece, I will draw upon the facts to engage and inform an audience in an accessible and enjoyable way.
Speaking events and presentations
I am an experienced, confident and charismatic public speaker. With decades of experience, I share my personal journey as a STEM leader, nuclear professional, mum and veteran. What I enjoy most is engaging a crowd as an MC or moderator.
Nuclear technologies often get a bad rap due to pop culture depictions (does a radioactive spider ring a bell?). However, peaceful nuclear technologies affect our everyday lives no matter who you are or where you live. I love being able to discuss how atoms interact to create all these amazing technologies.
